Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce (or re-introduce) myself as the new Milo Elementary Principal. This will be my 13th year as an administrator. I spent three years in RSU 64 as a Teaching Principal, then in 2016, I became building principal here at Milo Elementary for two years before I took the position as the PVMS principal. I spent five years in that role, the last year of those 5, I was also the PVHS principal. For the last two years I have been at RSU 63 working as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
When the opportunity arose to come back here I was very excited. I did enjoy my role as the Director of Curriculum, however, I missed being part of a building and younger aged students. Honestly, and not trying to sound cheesy, it felt like I was coming home again.
Now for a few personal things about me. I live in Old Town with my husband of 24 years and our two children. My son James is 20 and just graduated from UMO. My daughter Karina is 17 and will be a senior in high school this coming school year. When I am not here at work, most of my spare time will be spent at her sporting events.
As a leader, I enjoy building strong relationships with staff, students and the community. I am also firm, consistent and a strong communicator. Every week there will be a Weekly Message for parents/guardians that will be sent via email (I’ll be creating an email group) and posted on our Facebook page. Part of my job also consists of increasing family engagement so you’ll see opportunities to be more of a part of your child(ren)’s education throughout the school year.
