It's been a strong year for the PVHS boys baseball team, as they went 9-5 on the season, and handily won their prelim game vs Southern Aroostook 11-1, followed by the quarterfinal game up to Stearns 14-1.

After getting off to a great start Saturday at top seed and undefeated Fort Fairfield, and leading by one going into the bottom of the sixth, the Howlers ended up falling to the host team 7-4.

This is the first time the PVHS baseball team has made it to the semifinal round since the 2018 season.

Congratulations players and coaches on a great 2026 season!

PVHS Softball will be home vs Schenck with the first pitch scheduled for 3:30. The Lady Howlers are the number 1 seed while the Lady Wolverines finished at the 8 spot. Senior pitcher Lauren Veino is sitting on 713 career strikeouts...one shy of PV's class of 2020 standout Leine McKechnie's school record of 714!

The #5 seed Baseball Howlers won their prelim 11-1 on Tuesday against Southern Aroostook to advance to these quarterfinals. Today they will travel to Millinocket to face the #4 seed Stearns Minutemen at 4:00 pm (bus departs at 2:00).

The PVHS Math Team paid tribute to Mr. Whitney at last night's PVHS Awards Banquet. To celebrate their coach, team members created special shirts featuring Mr. Whitney and the Math Team mascot, "Kerwin," as a way to show their appreciation for his years of dedication to the team.
Mr. Whitney is retiring at the end of this school year after 19 years at PVHS, including 18 years as the Math Team coach. While he will be greatly missed by the PVHS community, we are grateful for his many years of service and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement. Thank you, Mr. Whitney, for the positive impact you have had on our students, Math Team, and school community!

Congratulations to our very own Kortney McKechnie, who has now been part of 100 wins as part of the PVHS softball coaching staff during the past 7 seasons. The feat was reached on Thursday 5/28/26 when the Lady Howlers beat PCHS 15-0. Kortney, PVHS class of 2018 and standout softball player, started coaching the year following her graduation and has been in the dugout ever since. Thank you for volunteering your time Kortney, and congratulations on reaching this milestone!

Notice to Families and Staff: Water Main Leak and Repairs

We want to make families and staff aware that we recently identified a leak in the water main coming into the middle school. After evaluating the situation, a plumber determined that the leak is small and does not pose any danger to students or staff.

The area of lawn outside of the multipurpose room is quite wet as a result of the leak, which is why caution tape has been placed around that section of the grounds. We ask everyone to please avoid the taped off area.

Repairs to the water main are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the school remains fully operational and safe for students and staff.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

This Spring Fling week, the PVHS Student Council is sponsoring a Rock-Paper-Scissors competition between students, administrators, and faculty. Challenges can only occur during homeroom, lunch, and passing time between classes, and challenges must be accepted. Each player starts the week with one beaded necklace, and a loss means handing all of your necklaces over to whoever beat you. At the end of the week, the class with the most necklaces gets points toward Spring Fling! Our students and staff had a lot of fun with this activity!
