PVHS Senior Parker Theriault, who wrestles for M.A. coach and PV alum Matt Lindsay in the MA/PV Co-Op Wrestling Program, had a fantastic weekend in Rhode Island at the New England Girl's Championship! On Saturday, Parker competed in two matches and recorded two pins to move on to the semi-finals. Sunday morning in the semi's, she outscored her opponent 8-4 to advance to the Finals, where she was narrowly defeated by a wrestler from New Hampshire.
As the lone wrestler representing PVHS, she earned 21 points, which put "Team-PVHS" in 27th place in the New England Tourney, with over 112 teams represented...so she outscored many teams on her own! Parker is also signed up to compete in Nationals (Virginia Beach) later this month, where there will be close to 800 girls competing (Information was given for this post by Coach Lindsay).
Parker will be continuing to wrestle at the collegiate level next year, attending Maine Maritime Academy studying Marine Transportation Operations.
