DIRECTORY INFORMATION

 

Directory Information is information that can be released even to the public without parental consent [34 C.F.R. 99.3(ii), 37] FERPA

 

In M.S.A.D. #41 this information includes:

 

                      1.         Name

                      2.         Participation in officially recognized activities and sports

                      3.         Height and weight of student athletes

                      4.         Grade level in school of students in extracurricular activities

                      5.         Date of attendance at M.S.A.D. #41 schools

                      6.         Honors and awards received.

 

Parents or eligible students (18 years old or older) have a right to refuse to let the school designate any or all of these types of information in the case of their own children.

 

Parents or eligible students (18 years old or older) must notify the school in writing that he/she does not want this information given by July 1 for the upcoming school year or within 30 days of enrollment.
