The School Board of M.S.A.D. #41
recognized the importance of regular physical examinations as recommended by
the student’s family physician. The
Board encourages parents/guardians to be vigilant in monitoring the health and
safety of students participating in co-curricular athletic activities and to
communicate health or safety concerns to the family physician as well as the
coach, athletic director, school nurse or other school official.
In order to participate in any
co-curricular athletic activity an athletic candidate must present a current
report of physical examination prior to participation in the middle level
athletic program (grades 6-8) and again prior to participation in the high school
athletic program (grades 9-12). A
medical doctor, doctor of osteopathy, nurse practitioner or a physician’s
assistant, pay perform the physical examination.
